Bo Jackson... Read More!

Panthers quarterback Cam Newton has plenty of those, especially on the heels of the $100 million contract he signed last week. Another player who won the Heisman Trophy at Auburn, legendary running back Bo Jackson, doesn’t appreciate the criticism.

"It’s easy to sit there on your sofa and drink a beer and eat peanuts and criticize somebody," Jackson said Friday night at Newton’s charity kickball tournament at BB&T Ballpark. "Get your lazy a#@ out there and try to play."
Newton has thrown for 14,426 yards, 82 touchdowns and 54 interceptions in his four years since being drafted No. 1 overall in 2011. The "haters" Jackson refers to like to point out his 59.5 completion percentage and claim inconsistency.
"Those people that are poking holes in his game need to come out and put on a uniform and try to do what he does," Jackson said. "Period. Bottom line."
Carolina invested $60 million of guaranteed money in its franchise quarterback. Bo knows that’s a good move.
"He hasn’t even scratched the surface of his talent," he said.
