Bonds 1 Step Closer to Cooperstown
By Danny B Sports

Barry Bonds' legacy was dealt a considerable blow nearly four years ago when the polarizing slugger was convicted of obstruction of justice for rambling under oath when questioned by a grand jury about illegal steroid distribution.
On Wednesday, however, baseball's all-time home run leader was vindicated.
According to a report from the Associated Press, the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals overturned Bonds' conviction for obstruction of justice Wednesday afternoon, determining that his meandering answer was "not material to the government's investigation into steroids distribution."
Prosecutors, though, could petition the U.S. Supreme Court to review Wednesday's decision.
Bonds, who earned seven Most Valuable Player awards throughout his illustrious but turbulent 22-year career, was indicted in 2007 on charges of perjury and obstruction of justice stemming from his 2003 testimony before a grand jury.
