Former New York Yankees catcher Jorge Posada believes performance-enhancing drug users should be prohibited from being inducted into the Hall of Fame.
That includes former teammates Alex Rodriguez and Roger Clemens.
"I don't think it's fair," Posada told "CBS This Morning" on Wednesday as part of his book tour. "I really don't. I think the guys that need to be in the Hall of Fame need to be a player that played with no controversy."
Posada added that he resents players who didn't compete clean.
The five-time All-Star, who retired in 2011 after 17 seasons with the Yankees, showed frustration toward players who accomplished artificially boosted feats in the core of the steroid era.
Posada pointed to the 2003 season, in which he finished third in MVP voting after batting .281/.405/.518 with 30 home runs and 101 RBIs.
That year's winner? Rodriguez.
"I was almost there," Posada said. "You know what could've happened if ... you know, it's tough. It's really tough."
