Posted by Danny Biancullo

The 2015 MLB trade deadline is nearly here. These will be the 10 best players to change cities by the end of July.

The Padres' splash in the offseason has been a bust as they sit nine games under .500 at 39-48. Justin Upton has been one of the more productive players (.259 /14 HRs / 46 RBIs) which makes him an attractive trade target for a team in need of an outfielder.

Tulowitzki has been having a healthy season so far. He can serve as a top-tier shortstop for any team in need of one -- that is, if he can continue to stay healthy. He has dealt with more than his fair share of injuries over his career which is why he is so low on the list.

There are a handful of contenders that could use some bullpen help, and the Padres have someone who can help. Kimbrel has been on a recent tear, allowing one earned run over the last 10 innings, lowering his ERA to 3.19. Kimbrel would be a welcome addition to any bullpen.

7. Carlos Gomez

The Milwaukee Brewers currently sit in last place in the NL Central at 37-50 and will be sellers at the deadline. Gomez’s numbers have been subpar by his standards (.274 avg, 8 HRs, 36 RBIs) which may persuade them to move him and his good-sized contract. Gomez would serve as a good outfielder both offensively and defensively to any team that is looking for a balanced outfielder.

Samardzija has had a respectable season, but he's been victim of anemic White Sox offense. His ERA rose to 4.33 due in large part to two starts last month where he combined to give up 15 runs in 12.1 innings. While he is not a top-end arm, he could serve as a good middle-of-the-rotation guy. Samardzija is coming off a hot start which could boost his number of suitors.

5. Tyler Clippard

Tyler Clippard has been an effective force in the Athletics’ bullpen. In 34 games, he has posted a 2.52 ERA while holding opponents to an impressive .173 batting average. Clippard can come in and immediately upgrade a contender in need of bullpen help.

Zobrist has the ability to play second base as well as both corner outfield spots. This makes him quite appealing to any team that could use offensive help from multiple positions. In fact, the A's have already started receiving calls regarding the veteran.

3. Cole Hamels

Hamels' numbers have suffered thanks to the Phillies’ anemic offense at times. He has proven to be a top-tier pitcher with a poor supporting offense. If put on a team with a strong offense he could be even better. Just imagine a rotation where he is behind Clayton Kershaw.

Chapman has better stuff than any other reliever and would make any rotation considerably better. The question is just who has the best return package to offer the Reds.

For many of the buyers, their starting pitching has been pretty solid, but that doesn't mean they couldn't use an upgrade. Cueto can give any rotation a starter with quality outings on a consistent basis. While Cueto’s contract runs out at the end of the season, potential suitors like the Tigers, Yankees and Dodgers have the ability to pay him the money he deserves.
